Günter Behnisch, born 12th June 1922 in Lockwitz near Dresden, spent his childhood in Dresden and Chemnitz. He was married to Johanna Behnisch and had two daughters and one son.
After studying at the renewed “Stuttgarter Schule”, he started his practice in 1952. With his numerous national and international awards, prizewinning works and many personal honours he is one of the most recognized German architects, worldwide. Günter Behnisch died in July 2010 in Stuttgart.
Fritz Auer, born 24th June 1933 in Tübingen, grew up in Kirchentellinsfurt. Since 1962 he is married to Ingrid Auer, together they have one daughter and two sons.
He started working at Behnisch & Lambart while still studying at the Stuttgart Technical University (now Stuttgart University) before he became partner at Behnisch & Partner in 1966. He left the office fourteen years later to open-up his practice Auer+Weber together with Carlo Weber. He is a frequent judge and lecturer. Fritz Auer lives in Munich and Stuttgart.
Carlo Weber was born on April 6th, 1934 in Saarbrücken, married to Liliane Weber since 1965, has two daughters and one son.
While still studying architecture at Stuttgart Technical University (now Stuttgart University) he gained his first practical experience at Behnisch & Lambart, Stuttgart and continued working there after his diploma. He became partner at Behnisch & Partner in 1966 and opened up his practice Auer+Weber together with Fritz Auer in 1980. Carlo Weber was a frequent judge and lecturer. He lived at Lake Starnberg and Stuttgart, where he died in 2014.

Winfried Büxel, born 1928 in Schabo/Bessarabien, was married and had four children.
He studied architecture at Stuttgart Technical University (now Stuttgart University) where he also gained is diploma. From 1959 on he worked with Günter Behnisch for several years before he became partner in 1966. He left the offices in 1992. Winfried Büxel died in April 2010.
Erhard Tränkner, born 1st January 1929 in Halle/Saale, is married and has two children.
After his architectural studies and his time as assistant professor at the University of Architecture and Civil Engineering in Weimar, he started working with Günter Behnisch in 1958. He was partner at Behnisch & Partner from 1966 until 1993. Erhard Tränkner was dedicated to work of the Association of German Architects (BDA) and acted first as a chairman of the Baden-Württemberg branch before he became president of the BDA in 1987. In 1995 he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Manfred Sabatke, born 1938 in Pyritz/Pommern, is married and has three children.
He studied architecture at Stuttgart Technical University (now Stuttgart University) and worked for several years in Birmingham, Michigan /USA before joining Behnisch & Partner as a freelance, starting in 1967. Manfred Sabatke became partner in 1970.
